This scheme is open to all students of the college who have an aptitude for social work, viz to promote Adult Literacy, Fast Aid, Scouting, Cleaning tanks and ponds, Laying roads. Planting trees and orchards etc.
The Chief aim of the National Service Scheme is to educate the youth through community service and social service Students may avail opportunity of the scheme by registering their names. Present sanctioned strength is 100 comprising of two units viz (a) Boys Unit and (b) Girls Unit each of 50 students for +3 Students Attendance is compulsory for all enrolled students of N.S.S. The scheme is operating under the auspices of the Utkal University. A separate boys' unit is opened especially for +2 students under the aegis of Council of Higher Secondary Education. Odisha, with the student strength of 50.
Students having will to serve humanity are recruited to youth Red Cross wing of the college. The chief aim of it is to serve humanity through love, friendship, and humanity. About fifty students of both +2 and +3wings can have option for it. The wing is working under the guidance and supervision of a teacher called the Youth Redcross Counsellor. Every year volunteers take part in blood donation and in 2002 there was an inter college blood-donation camp organised by the YRC wing of the college. On 30th January 2004 blood-donation camp was organised under the auspices of Youth Red Cross. Volunteers from 5 colleges participated in the camp organised by the YRC wing of the college. Besides, these volunteers and YRC counsellors take active part in rendering social service during the car festival at Puri every year. Volunteers and its YRC members also take part in orientation, disaster management, awareness on AIDS and other public activities from time to time. The unit is well-operating under the auspices of the Orissa State Red Cross Society.
The State Secretary Odisha Bharat Scouts and Guides vide circular No-587dt. 4th April 2004 has allowed to open more than one Units of Scouts SGuides in our institution with a view to inculcate the spirit of patriotism discipline & other social activities in different local Mellas, Festivals, Natural Calamities, Sanitation, Afforestation, Development of green belt, Health awareness &other services rendered to the public.
Five rovers of our college successfully participated in the state level Rover-Ranger Samagam under the leadership of Dr. A.K. Bhadra (Rover Leader) at the state Head Quarters, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Bhubaneswar from 4th to 8th February 2008.
From the academic session 2008-09, the state unit of Bharat Scout and Guides, Orissa has been pleased to permit to open a lady wing in our college. This is the result of the hard work and reputation earned by the gent's rangers & rovers wing since its installation.
In the year (2008-09), Rover leader Dr. A.K. Bhadra along with 7 other students got the Governor's award which brings glory to the institution.
